Kitchen Display SystemsLogic Controls has been manufacturing Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) hardware since the early 1990s, when Logic Controls teamed up with IBM and Progressive software on the KDS project. Logic Controls designed and manufactured the KDS hardware that was private labeled as the IBM Kitchen Display System. Today , Logic Controls offers the hospitality industry the widest selection of kitchen display system hardware to meet the broad range of customer requirements.

Logic Net

hNet is a new generation of Kitchen Video System (KVS). This system offers the flexibility to achieve the most desirable kitchen automation features.
The hNet is a hybrid system that deploys more than one type of controller(s) operating in the same KVS system. - For standard kitchen stations, highly reliable yet low cost controllers are used.
- For multi-function kitchen stations such as video training or running other applications high performance controllers are used.
hNet represents a significant achievement in KVS technology and patent pending is filed in the US.

Cost Effective Logic Net® modules can replace costly PC workstations, network hubs and network software. To add more stations, simply increase the number of LS3000 module connected to one LM3000 control modules. No special interface cards or additional hardware is required between the LS3000 I/O stations and a multitude of peripheral devices.
Reliable and Rugged The LM3000 control module was designed to meet the most demanding requirements of an industrial network. There are no disk drives, fans or mechanical parts that can easily fail. The enclosure is a heavy-duty zinc die cast case for extra ruggedness. Every module uses snap-to-lock connectors for secure connections. The LM3000 communicates with LS3000 I/O stations using communications protocols and topologies with proven reliability. It features high common-mode noise rejection network wiring. The poll/select protocol functionality avoids data collision, and the cyclic redundant checks virtually eliminate all communication errors. A zero single-point-of-failure configuration is also supported. LM3000 connections provide for a redundant data path to prevent network interruption due to a line breakage. The LM3000 has low power consumption that results in low internal temperature rise for higher mean time between failure. In addition, the units are tamper proof, with no on/off or selection switches and no adjustable devices.
Ultra Compact The LM3000 has a very compact form factor - only 1.0"h x 6.3"w x 5.1"d. Two mounting brackets enable these modules to be mounted almost anywhere - on a wall, ceiling, table top or under a counter. This enables it to be used in a variety of applications - on a production line, in a restaurant's kitchen system, etc. - despite severe space constraints.

Reliable and Rugged The LS6000 module is an enhanced version of the time proven classic Logic Net. It is designed to meet the most demanding requirements of today's kitchen video display systems. Logic Controls Logic Net solution has been widely regarded as the most reliable KDS hardware solution on the market for the past decade. It has been deployed by some of the largest restaurant chains in the world as well as thousands of small local restaurants. This is one of the reasons why the Logic Net solution is supported by over 20 POS software partners. The LS6000 module uses no internal cables, hard disk drives, fans, or mechanical moving parts that can easily fail. The enclosure is a heavy-duty die cast case for extra ruggedness. Every module uses snap-to-lock connectors for secure connections. The LS6000 module consumes less than 1.5 watts of power, ideal for reliable operation in the hot kitchen environment. In addition, the module is tamper proof, without on/off or selection switches and no adjustable devices.
Cost Effective The LS6000 module can replace costly and ill-suited PC workstations with network software. To add more stations, simply add more LS6000 modules. No special interface cards or additional hardware is required for the LS6000 module to communicate with peripheral devices. In addition, upgrading LS6000 for enhanced functionality is easy with remote downloadable firmware. and character fonts.
Compact and ethernet-based The LS6000 module has a very compact form factor - only 1.0"h x 6.3"w x 5.1"d. Two mounting tabs enable these modules to be mounted almost anywhere - on a display monitor arm, wall, ceiling or under a counter. The LS6000 module also uses standard ethernet connection to a system hub to communicate with the server or workstation running the kitchen production management software.

Logic eNet is a new generation of kitchen display system that incorporates many important features from both Logic Net and Logic Serve. For example, Logic eNet features the same level of reliability of Logic Net and uses the popular ethernet topology of Logic Serve. The key component of Logic eNet is the new LS6000 module.
The important features of LS6000 include:
» IP addressable module with ethernet connection » Ultra compact size: 1.0" x 5.1" x 6.3" » Reliable rugged and fanless design » Low cost, no operating system is required » Downloadable firmware to emulate any proprietary module » Touch screen support » Powerful self-diagnostics » Optional built-in build card function » Dual serial ports to drive a printer plus another serial device » Low operating power consumption, less than 1.5 watts
Two major distinctions of Logic eNet, compares with Logic Net, are:
1. No need for a LM3000 control unit. 2. Popular ethernet topology is used as shown left.

Logic Serve is a truly open, standards-based solution that is very reliable yet very affordable. For companies seeking a powerful kitchen system solution that runs Windows or Linux, handles multimedia, and/or is wireless, the new Logic Serve system is the ideal answer. Logic Serve is comprised of Logic Controls' line of fanless industrial computers such as LC8600 as well as the kitchen Command Platform software program. LC8600 industrial computer is full Intel-compatible computers designed for industrial uses such as kitchen display systems. Amazing, LC8600 dimensions are only 2.0"H x 8.0"W x 6.3"L. The units provide unparalleled reliability by having all components reside on one PC board and using no moving mechanical parts. Storage, for example, is supplied by a solid state flash drive. It comes with a full compliment of I/O ports - ethernet, USB, serial, PS/2 keyboard/mouse and VGA port are all included. Connecting a wireless adapter to the units provides for a versatile wireless workstation. For Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) applications that require video presentation, Logic Serve system is the correct choice. Each KDS workstation consists of a ruggedized industrial computer (LC8600). a bump bar (KB1700), and a 17-inch TFT LCD monitor (LL3017). Since the LC8200 Industrial Computer is a high performance PC, Logic Serve is compatible with a broad range of existing KDS application software. The key component of Logic Serve is the industrial computer, model LC8600. Unlike the conventional PC, LC8600 is designed specifically to operate in the most demanding kitchen environment. Logic Serve systems follow the standard ethernet topology. A typical 3-workstation system is shown at left.
 | Fanless prevents oil and dust entering into the computer | | Small footprint, 2.0” x 8.0” x 6.0” | | High performance, use the low power consumption Intel Celeron-M CPU, up to 1GHz clock speed | | No internal moving parts, when configured with compact flash for mass storage | | Large compliment of I/O ports | | Rugged die cast with wing tabs for wide variety mounting options |
Logic Net® was specifically designed to meet the most demanding kitchen system requirements. Logic Net® was originally designed to IBM's restaurant system specifications and was subsequently OEMed by IBM. It is a cost-effective solution because it requires no PC workstations, no network hubs, no network adapters or interface cards, and no network software. The world's largest and best restaurant companies have adopted Net® for its high reliability, secure network features, compact size and proven track record. Logic NetR is supported by leading software vendors supplying kitchen system software including Aloha, EXIT41, FuturePOS, Positive Solutions, Positouch, Progressive Software, SIVA, System3 POS and others. Logic Net® is comprised of the LM3000 Series control modules and LS3000 Series I/O workstations. The LM3000 control module is attached to the server via an ethernet, serial or USB connection, and up to 16 LS3000 I/O workstations are in turn connected to the LM3000 control module. A zero single-point-of-failure configuration is also supported.
